This year we are doing the posts from The Donna G Project, which took this podcast from about 50 to followers to 5000 (although we’re back down in the 50 range now). The Donna G Project was a series of letters I wrote to the boys that was sparked by a friend’s experience with breast cancer (Donna G).

This is the first story — the story of Shani and I getting together. It talks about our first date all the way to having kids. It’s a romantic story.

To bring it to life, I use music from Brian Revels and the Heat Lightning. They are a terrific country band and we basically used a single song (Anywhere But You) to help narrate the entire episode. I thought I’d use a bunch of songs, but it worked out to just use the one. It was a perfect fit.
